Job summary

University Housing in Athens, GA, seeks a Night Desk Assistant to provide late-night desk coverage for residential communities. You will support access control, answer inquiries, and assist with routine administrative tasks while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time, in good standing, and available for mandatory training Jan 4–8, 2027. This position offers 0.50 FTE with a $12.00 hourly wage in the Athens area.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at least half-time during classes (minimum 6 credit hours for undergrad/professional students; 5 for grads).
• Good standing with Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
• New applicants must attend mandatory training Jan 4–8, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Follow desk policies: key management, equipment check-out, access control.
• Provide exemplary customer service to residents, guests, visitors, faculty, and staff.
• Serve as a resource for housing and university operations information.
• Support office staff with administrative tasks and policy enforcement.
• Assist in opening/closing and transition of residence halls; participate in training and meetings.
• Work late-night shifts, weekends, holidays, and some home football games as required.
