Job summary

American University seeks a Night Desk Assistant (NDA) to support Housing & Residence Life. The NDA will work 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, ensuring campus safety and assisting residents. This part-time student role reports to Residential Operations and collaborates with multiple campus staff.

Eligible AU undergraduates with 12–17 credits/semester and a GPA ≥ 2.50 are invited to apply. The position is non-exempt and campus-based, offering meaningful service within the university community.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as an AU undergraduate (12–17 credits per term).
• GPA 2.50 or higher (term and cumulative) maintained during employment.
• Part-time availability for 8–24 hours per week with 11:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-desk customer service and safety facilitation for residents and guests.
• Check in/out guests, respond to questions, and maintain logs and supplies.
• Enforce policies, document violations, and follow emergency procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with Residential Operations staff and other desk personnel to ensure smooth operations.
