Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Patrol and Customer Service in Sparks, NV to safeguard clients across Tech/Media/Telecom environments. You will monitor access, perform routine unarmed patrols, and provide professional customer service, ensuring a welcoming, secure atmosphere.

The role is full time with an overnight schedule (Wed–Sun, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM). A background check and drug screening are required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors at a technology data center by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of data center buildings, access points, parking areas, utility areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and report observations.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and assist with directing authorized personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity records while maintaining awareness of changing conditions across the location.
