Job summary

Clark College is seeking a full-time Custodian 4 in the Facilities Services department. The role includes supervising staff, training on products and equipment, and contributing to budget planning.

The position is 100% in-person on the main campus with travel to satellite campuses and an evening schedule from Thursday through Monday. Final hours may change due to business needs; probationary period applies, with permanent status after successful completion.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of custodial, janitorial, or building maintenance experience, including directing or leading others.
• One (1) year of experience supervising or directing other staff in large scale housekeeping or custodial work.
• Knowledge of SDS requirements, chemical handling, PPE, and workplace safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct assigned personnel in cleaning and custodial duties.
• Train other personnel in new product and equipment use.
• Evaluate performance of lower-level staff.
• Evaluate total work against standards and counsel on performance.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
• Order and maintain custodial supplies and equipment.
• Meet with vendors to evaluate products and recommend purchases.
• Assist in maintaining budget control for labor and materials.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and campus events.
• Prepare reports on custodial workloads, service requirements, and employee performance.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Coordinate recycling program activities and vendor contacts.
• Determine staffing needs for buildings and oversee activities in your area.
• Occasionally drive light trucks and other mobile equipment.
• May perform custodial tasks as a working supervisor.
