Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools is seeking a Custodian at Century Middle School to maintain overall cleanliness and safe operation of the site. You will clean classrooms, offices, hallways, entryways, restrooms, and other areas on a schedule and after events.

You will also do light maintenance, dust and sanitize surfaces, and assist with furniture setup for community events, all while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb an 8-foot step ladder and/or up to a height of 12-feet.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the school and its site.
  • Cleans classrooms, offices, hallways, entryways, restrooms, and other common areas of the school on a regular basis and after events.
  • Dusts, cleans, sanitizes surfaces within the school including windows, ledges, desks, tables, countertops.
  • Performs specialized cleaning at times of the year including stripping and waxing floors.
  • Complies with health and safety codes, including OSHA standards.
  • Performs minor building maintenance including bulb replacement, furniture repair, and basic repairs to plumbing, heating and electrical equipment.
  • Sets up furniture and equipment for community use and school events.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Performs minor building maintenance including, but not limited to: bulb replacement, furniture repair, and basic repairs to plumbing, heating and electrical equipment.
  • Sets up furniture and equipment (tables, chairs, bleachers, risers, etc.) for community use and school events.
