Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize surgical instruments. You will ensure proper packaging, storage, and readiness for immediate use in the operating rooms and delivery areas.

Responsibilities include operating sterilization equipment, performing daily equipment tests, and maintaining accurate logs. Strong attention to detail and communication with clinical teams are essential to uphold care standards at MetroHealth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• One year of Central Sterile Processing experience.
• Certification as CBSPD CST or CRCST is required.
• Good communication and phone etiquette.
• Critical thinking and knowledge of surgical terminology.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare, package, sterilize, and store surgical instruments.
• Serve as liaison to OR and labor/delivery regarding instrument care.
• Operate instrument washer and sterilization equipment for same-day use.
• Perform daily sterilizer testing and maintain logs and supplies.
• Uphold the MetroHealth System mission, vision, values, and customer service standards.
