Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to join the surgical support team. You will decontaminate, prepare, package, sterilize and store instrumentation and act as liaison to OR and labor and delivery regarding instrument care and use.

Responsibilities include operating washers and sterilizers, performing daily sterilizer tests, maintaining logs and supplies, and upholding the system's mission, values and customer service standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Good communication skills and phone etiquette.
Critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to surgical instrumentation.
Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, prepare, package, sterilize and store surgical instrumentation.
Serve as liaison to OR and labor/delivery about instrument care and use.
Operate instrument washer and all sterilization equipment; reprocess instruments for same-day use.
Perform daily sterilizer testing and maintain logs and supplies.
Uphold the MetroHealth System's mission, values and customer service standards.
