Job summary

DuPage County Health Department seeks a Peer Support Engagement Specialist for overnight shifts in Wheaton. You will respond to psychiatric crises as part of a two-person team, de-escalate situations, and engage clients using personal recovery experience.

You will provide skill-building, case management, and maintain confidential records. Requires two years in behavioral health, a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and CRSS credential within a year of hire.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the behavioral health field or equivalent.
• Must have valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
• CRSS credential within one year of hire is required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Respond in the community and on-site as part of a two-person response team.
• Assist in de-escalation through engagement and coordination with clinical interventions.
• Establish rapport and strengthen engagement with individuals in crisis.
• Provide skill-building and case management to clients with high need.
• Maintain documentation within established timeframes using Electronic Client Record.
