Job summary

Mars Wrigley Gainesville Plant in Georgia is seeking a Controls Technician to own PCIS systems in production areas, fix outages, and perform preventive maintenance on site equipment.

Requires a 2-year technical degree (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation) or equivalent experience, 1+ year experience in instrumentation and electrical control, and proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens PLC environments. 12-hour night shift with 2-2-3 rotation and on-site team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must have met time in role (12+ Months)
• Must have line manager approval to apply
• Must be in good standing in current role
• 2-year Technical Degree/Certificate (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation) or equivalent experience
• 1+ years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, and Factory Controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution

Responsibilities

• Excellent communication skills required
• Demonstrate the ability to analyze and test applications for Factory Control systems
• Good understanding of Rockwell 5000 and Siemens Step 7 Controls Systems environments including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Factory Talk, and Step 7
• Ability to work well with user departments to provide operational support in the use of HMI terminals, along with software applications on Control Systems
• Understanding of industrial networks including, but not limited to, Ethernet, Profibus, and ProfiNet
• Ability to troubleshoot programs residing in Siemens, and/or Rockwell Automation PLC Control Systems preferred
• In-depth knowledge of installation, programming, and troubleshooting of VFDs, Servo Drives, and sensors
• Must have strong electrical troubleshooting skills of complex industrial manufacturing equipment
• Field service experience preferred
• This role will operate in a team of 4 to troubleshoot and repair all electrical machine stops throughout the factory*
