Job summary

The Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter are seeking a Night Compactor to help maintain a clean, safe, and sustainable venue during daily operations and events. You will operate compacting machinery and sort landfill, recyclable, and compostable items, while assisting with general cleaning and waste management tasks.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, with experience in a similar graveyard or task-based role, able to work late shifts, and able to communicate in conversational English.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in a similar role in graveyard or task-based function preferred.
• Ability to work late and overnight on a graveyard schedule.
• Understand and communicate conversational English.
• Demonstrate interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to rotate duties and perform other job-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate compacting machinery and coordinate waste and recyclable operations.
• Sort landfill, recyclable, and compostable items.
• Clean and sanitize garbage cans and gondolas.
• Maintain and clean equipment and workspaces daily.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks to assist in event preparation.
• Respond to radio calls promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.

As our Night Compactor , you will be fundamental in our responsibility to sustainable practices and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our guests, fans, and employees by sorting recyclable, compostable, and landfill items after daily operations and events.

DAY-TO-DAY:

• - Operating compacting machinery, coordinating waste and recyclable operations.
• - Sorting landfill, recyclable, and compostable items.
• - Cleaning and sanitizing garbage cans and gondolas.
• - Maintaining and cleaning equipment and workspaces daily.
• - Performing miscellaneous tasks to assist in preparation for events.
• - Responding to radio calls in a timely manner.
• - Other duties as assigned.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

• - Are a minimum of 18 years old.
• - Have experience in a similar role in graveyard or task-based function, preferred.
• - Have the ability to work late and overnight with a graveyard work schedule.
• - You must be able to understand and communicate conversational English, including following verbal and written direction.
• - Demonstrate effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• - Demonstrate safe work habits and proper body mechanics when lifting or moving heavy objects.
• - Have the ability to rotate duties as needed and perform other reasonable job-related duties.
