United Gear & Assembly, Inc. is a premier manufacturer of precision gears, shafts, and related assemblies based in Hudson, WI. You will set up and operate horizontal multi-axis lathes, review blueprints and QC docs, select tools, and ensure parts meet specifications.

We value strong problem solving, analytical ability, and clear communication. This role involves standing most of the shift and requires reliable teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience with Gear Cutting, Hobb and Lathe equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literate with ability to learn and use manufacturing software
• Duties require verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate horizontal multi axis lathes to perform turning, boring, facing and threading.
• Review blueprints, job breakdown sheets and QC documents to determine machine settings and tools.
• Select and install tooling per job breakdown sheets.
• Mounts work piece between centers, on arbor, chuck or faceplate manually or with a hoist.
• Observe control readings to verify dimensional adjustments, feeds and speeds.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain clean work area.
