Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution or equivalent training.
• Education evaluated by a credentialing agency and deemed equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree in lab science.
• Certification for MT/MLS/CLS/MLT required or eligible and to be maintained current.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures in assigned sections.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensures quality control procedures are followed and documentation is accurate.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Uses Laboratory Information System to enter and verify results.
• Processes and handles patient specimens with attention to safety and pediatrics considerations.
• Contributes to evaluation and implementation of new testing procedures.
