Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support pediatric surgical patients on a 27-bed inpatient unit. Under the supervision of an RN, you will assist with vital signs, EKGs, and specimen labelling, while identifying changes in patient condition.

You will transport patients, stock supplies, and contribute to a family-centered care environment. The role requires a HS diploma, CN A certification or nursing student with rotation, and offers a 12-hour night shift schedule with

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
• Good communication skills; ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent care for pediatric surgical patients on a 27-bed inpatient unit under RN supervision.
• Obtain vital signs, including oxygen saturation, monitor intake and output, perform EKGs, and obtain/label lab specimens; report changes to the RN.
• Assist with transporting patients and stocking supplies/equipment as needed.
• Work in a family-centered care environment; adapt to a 12-hour night shift schedule (24 hours/week) with weekends (Sat/Sun 7PM–7AM).
