Job summary

UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL is seeking a chaplain for per diem shifts (Sunday–Saturday, 6pm–11pm on-site; 11pm–7am on-call). The role includes hospital visitation and ministry within a hospital setting, with on-site care at 1401 E State St.

Compensation may include shift differentials, overtime, and on-call pay. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field, 2 years of pastoral ministry experience in a hospital setting, and preferred CPE and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field from CHEA-accredited school.
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred
• 2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation required
• Endorsement or recognition of ministry by the governing body preferred
• At least one unit of hospital based Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent preferred
• Membership in APC/NACCP preferred

Education

Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from CHEA-accredited school

Work Schedule:

Per diem, Sunday - Saturday 6pm-11pm on-site 11pm-7am on-call, you will work at UW Health Swedish American Hospital 1401 E State St.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Required
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation Required
• Endorsement or appropriate recognition of ministry by the governing body of the Chaplain's denomination/faith group Preferred
• At least one unit of hospital based Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalent Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Membership (or eligibility for membership in) the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Preferred
• APC Board Certification. Preferred
