Job summary

UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL seeks a per diem chaplain for Sunday–Saturday shifts. You will provide spiritual care in a hospital setting, with on-site evenings and on-call overnights, including on-call compensation and shift differentials.

Qualifying candidates have a theology-related degree, CPE preferred, and hospital visitation experience. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within UW Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field from CHEA-accredited school.
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred.
• 2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation.
• Endorsement or recognition of ministry by the denomination preferred.
• APC/NACC membership or eligibility preferred.

Job description

Per diem, Sunday - Saturday 6pm-11pm on-site 11pm-7am on-call, you will work at UW Health Swedish American Hospital 1401 E State St.

Additional components of compensation may include:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Required
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation Required
• Endorsement or appropriate recognition of ministry by the governing body of the Chaplain's denomination/faith group Preferred
• At least one unit of hospital based Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalent Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Membership (or eligibility for membership in) the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Preferred
• APC Board Certification. Preferred
