Job summary

UW Health is looking for a chaplain to join our Pastoral Care team at SwedishAmerican Hospital. The role supports patients and families through spiritual care, counseling, and faith-based guidance, collaborating with medical staff to integrate spiritual well-being into care plans.

Required: a CHEA-accredited Master's in Theology or related field and one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education; four units preferred. Licensed or ordained chaplain status is required or in good standing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field (CHEA accredited).
• Must have completed at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education in a hospital setting is preferred.

Work Schedule

100% FTE, full-time. Day shift. 9:00-6:30pm. 8 Hours shifts. You will work at the UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital.

Additional components of compensation may include

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Required
• Must have completed at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. Required
• Completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education in a hospital setting. Preferred

Work Experience

• No minimum experience required.
• 5 years Pastoral ministry in a church setting. Preferred
• 3 years Pastoral care as a chaplain in a hospital, hospice or other care facility. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed or ordained chaplain, and in good standing with their faith tradition. Required
• Membership (or eligibility for membership in) the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Preferred
• APC Board Certification. Preferred
