Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a part-time (50%) Pharmacy Technician, certified or trainee, to work in Acute Care, Central Pharmacy. You will operate under pharmacist supervision, support dispensing activities, and contribute to training in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include inventory management, labeling, medication packaging, and use of OmnicellXT Medstations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at the time of hire.
• PTCB or NHA national certification required for certified technicians; trainee status allowed with qualification timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory maintenance in satellites and dispensing areas.
• Review inventory for expired medications.
• Prepare and label medications, and manage medication distribution records.
• Operate OmnicellXT Medstations and other automated dispensing equipment.
