Job summary

Highline College is seeking a Campus Security Sergeant to supervise and train the evening campus security officers, ensuring excellent customer service for the college community. Reporting to the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management, this full-time role includes overtime eligibility and night shifts from 10 PM to 6 AM with some weekend requirements.

The position emphasizes training and emergency management procedures across faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in police or campus security.
• Possess a valid unrestricted driver's license.
• No previous felony convictions.
• Desirable: Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, emergency management, law enforcement, business administration, public administration or a related field.
• Desirable: ICS-300 and ICS-400 courses certification.

Responsibilities

• Investigate disturbances, accidents, and criminal activity.
• Collaborate with Associate Director of Emergency Management on parking enforcement management.
• Patrol campus buildings and grounds on foot or by vehicle.
• Issue citations for violations of campus regulations.
• Maintain surveillance and respond to incidents.
• Provide training and supervision for night officers.
