Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking a Building Attendant II to perform custodial maintenance at night in Brownsville. You will clean restrooms, restock supplies, handle trash, disinfect high-touch areas, and ensure floors, carpets, and furniture are well maintained.

This full-time role requires physical stamina, the ability to read and follow MSDS and work orders, and flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English well enough to comprehend MSDS, work orders, time cards, and directions.
• Must be physically able to perform essential duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs alone and 100 lbs with help.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine general cleaning in restrooms at shift start; restock supplies and trash removal; disinfect high-touch areas.
• Strip, wax, and polish floors; shampoo carpets; move furniture as required.
• Clean offices weekly; clean interior windows quarterly; provide overall building cleaning and maintenance.
