Job summary

Nestlé USA is seeking a skilled Utilities Technician to keep critical plant utility systems running safely and reliably in day-to-day manufacturing operations. You will operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, water treatment, and related equipment while collaborating with maintenance, operations, and contractors to minimize downtime.

You will respond quickly to alarms, perform preventive maintenance, document readings, and communicate risks to leadership.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of experience operating, repairing, and maintaining utility systems such as boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, water treatment, steam/condensate, and associated equipment
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• State Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License
• Ability to complete company refrigeration training requirements within 2 years of employment
• Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly
• Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed
• Preferred: Experience with ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls
• Preferred: Technical degree
• Preferred: RETA CIRO certification

Responsibilities

• Safely start up,operate, adjust, and shut down utility systems, including steam/hot water boilers, ammonia/CO₂ refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC, glycol, and water treatment systems
• Monitor gauges, instruments, alarms, and system readings tomaintainproper pressure, temperature, and fluid levels
• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance to support equipment reliability and uptime
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components such as valves, pumps, compressors, controls, and motors
• Respond to alarms, malfunctions, and emergency calls; accelerate complex issues and coordinate support when needed
• Maintainaccuratelogs and documentation for readings, inspections, maintenance, and system checks in line with company and regulatory requirements
• Communicate system conditions, risks, and needed actions to leadership and production teams
• Support system upgrades andassistwith capital or extraordinary maintenance projects
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, and external contractors to ensure continuous utility availability
• Follow all required procedures for safety, quality, housekeeping, and standard work practices
