Job summary

Lakeview Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Night Behavioral Health Technician to join our clinical team. You will support patient care, monitor safety, and assist with routine treatment activities in alignment with Bradford Program schedules and facility policies.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science or related field, or relevant experience in addiction treatment, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred; one year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of chemical dependency recovery principles
• Maintain records and have good communication skills
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one mile per eight hour shift
• Must be able to continuously sit for approximately three hours per eight hour shift
• Must be able to administer CPR and be certified
• Two years of continuous verifiable abstinence if recovering

Responsibilities

• Assist in luggage and body searches
• Monitor and facilitate Book Studies and Recovery meetings
• Know patient locations and document hourly checks
• Ensure patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time
• Oversee and sometimes facilitate patient activities
• Ensure patients are in rooms at the designated evening time
• Oversee med line to prevent diversion and de-escalate situations
• Assist patients to and from activities, medication times, and meals when unable to walk
• Assist the counselor as assigned and engage in appropriate documentation
• Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures
• Demonstrate ability to help patients overcome denial and complete treatment goals
• Manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reports
• Attend staff training and programs as directed
• Assist nurses as directed
• Drive patients to and from appointments and outings
• Drive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items (including nicotine products)
