Job Summary

The primary duties of the night auditor include checking front office, restaurant, and bar accounting records for accuracy, posting and balancing charges and settlements efficiently, and compiling information for financial records. Additionally, assisting guests with check-in and check-out, providing hotel services information, and ensuring a courteous and friendly guest experience are key responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

This summary covers primary responsibilities and qualifications. The hotel operates 24/7, so shift times and days may vary.

• Prepare daily revenue reports by auditing Micros tapes/journals.
• Run audit reports and journals.
• Make corrections, adjustments, and handle computer issues during shifts.
• Input revenue, expenses, and allowances into the system to generate daily reports.
• Balance revenue and settlement accounts nightly and reset systems for the next day.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Ensure reports and backups are complete and properly filed.
• Coordinate with front desk and restaurant/bars to facilitate smooth operations.
• Greet guests warmly, assist with check-in/out, and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
• Handle credit card imprinting, payments, and posting charges accurately.
• Answer phone calls professionally and manage messages and mail for guests.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries.
• Maintain a neat appearance and assist team members as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of accounting operations including accounts receivable and payable.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with a 10-key calculator.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Good observational skills for emergency situations.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and move throughout the front office area.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
