Job description

Marriott Houston North is a recently renovated property located in the Houston City North Area, with 390 rooms and 20 meeting spaces (15,990 SQ Ft) to amaze our guests. We are looking for Top Candidates like You to bring our property alive by delivering exceptional service.

Overview:

The primary duties of the night auditor are to check front office, restaurant and bar accounting records for accuracy, post and balance charges and settlements in a timely and efficient manner and compile information for the financial records. Assist guests with check-in & check-out processes, provide guests with hotel services information, and accommodate guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous and friendly manner.

Duties (not limited to):

• Run audit reports/journals.
• Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.
• Ensure all necessary copies of documents/back-up and reports of daily work are distributed to the proper person (i.e. A/R, A/P, and Payroll).
• Review and correct discrepancies in the Front Desk System.
• Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Code electronic keys, certificates, and coupons as appropriate. Requires continual standing and movement throughout front office areas.
• Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash; make change and balance as assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers, travelers checks, and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.

Duties (not limited to):

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff. Assign and instruct front desk clerks in details of work. Observes performance and encourages improvement.

• Handle late check-ins, early check-outs, and guest inquiries in a prompt manner.
• Monitor security systems and respond to emergencies to ensure guests and staff safety.
• Manage and coordinate the night shift staff, including front desk agents and housekeeping personnel.
• Perform nightly financial audits, reconcile accounts, and prepare necessary reports.

Qualifications:

• At least 6 months of previous experience as a Night Auditor.
• Knowledgeable in Marriott systems is highly desirable.
• Hospitality, orientation to detail, Computer, Complex Math Skills.
• Ability to effectively deal with guests and associate concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
• Proactive, problem solver and decision-making, customer service skills.
• Ability to read, listens, and communicates effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
