Peachtree Group in West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Night Auditor to handle nightly audit functions while delivering exceptional guest service at the front desk during the overnight shift.

This role combines front desk duties with audit responsibilities, requiring accuracy, proactive safety, and teamwork with hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Proactive thinking to maintain guest security and a safe, clean, friendly environment.
• Count cash and maintain accuracy of the cash drawer at shift start and end.
• Check front desk log for problems and special requests.
• Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
• Process guest registrations and collect payment.
• Prepare express checkout folios.
• Maintain accurate room status inventory.
• Communicate shift information to Front Office Manager and other staff.
• Keep lobby and bathrooms clean as needed.
• Handle guest inquiries about hotel services and directions.
• Complete all required shift paperwork and night audit reports daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

The Night Auditor is responsible for completing all nightly audit functions while delivering exceptional guest service at the hotel’s front desk. While performing audit duties, the Night Auditor also assists guests with check-ins and check-outs, processes reservations, and responds to guest inquiries, ensuring a high level of service throughout the overnight shift.

• Proactive thinking, keeping guest security always in mind, and creating a safe, clean, and friendly work environment.
• Responsible for counting cash and maintaining the accuracy of the issued cash drawer at the beginning and end of each scheduled shift.
• Check the front desk log for problems, special requests, etc.
• Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
• Process guest registrations, including collecting payment.
• Prepare express checkout folios.
• Maintain room status inventory.
• Communicate all pertinent shift information to Front Office Manager, General Manager, and other desk staff.
• Maintain and clean the lobby and bathroom as needed.
• Communicates all information to the following shift to ensure a smooth transition.
• Works closely with all hotel departments to ensure the highest quality of customer service.
• Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions. Explains in-room and hotel features.
• Responsible for completing all required shift paperwork, and night audit reports daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
