We are looking for an energetic night person to join our guest services team as our Night Auditor!

Overview

The Front Desk Night Clerk will serve as ambassador to the hotel handling all check-in and check-outs, answering incoming calls while upholding Guest Service Standards. Functions will also include nightly accounting and working as a "Runner" for housekeeping needs during the midnight shift. He/She will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. The Front Desk Night Clerk will perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. This position may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features/services, room types, rates, promotions, house count, availability, and scheduled activities.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
  • Pick up, count, and maintain bank; secure bank at all times.
  • Read the log book daily, and record all pertinent information.
  • Process currency exchange and payments to guest accounts.
  • Process adjustments, rebates, paid outs, and credits as required.
  • Operate Property Management System (PMS) and maintain security.
  • Verify and correct the Room Rate Report.
  • Post and audit banquet charges and other miscellaneous charges.
  • Reconcile telephone calls and miscellaneous accounts.
  • Backup computer system files.
  • Verify that all checks are closed, and close and log open checks in the POS system.
  • Print Food & Beverage end-of-day reports.
  • Audit Food & Beverage cashiers and rooms cashiers work, correcting discrepancies.
  • Audit all miscellaneous charges and verify package postings.
  • Input sales figures into PMS and balance accounts.
  • Run Room & Tax reports, verify room rates, and check cashier reports.
  • Record room statistics and close POS after balancing.
  • Run end-of-day programs, backup reports, and distribute reports accordingly.
  • Print express check-out folios and distribute.
  • Sign out and brief relief staff.
  • Review Night Audit checklist to ensure completion of all tasks.
  • Restock printers, deposit payments, and follow up on assignments.
  • Document maintenance needs and attend department meetings and training.
Education And Experience
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • One year of experience in a similar hotel position
  • Ability to work overnight shift (11 pm - 7 am)
  • Basic computer skills required
