Job summary

Normal Lodging LLC in Normal, IL is seeking a reliable Night Auditor to perform overnight accounting, guest services, and reporting. You will balance guest and house accounts, prepare daily management reports, and serve as the hotel’s representative during overnight hours.

The role requires strong customer service, independence, multitasking, and basic math. You’ll manage front desk tasks, answer calls, process reservations, and support operations while ensuring safety and compliance with EOE.

Responsibilities

• Process guest registrations, check-ins, and payments accurately.
• Answer and direct telephone calls per brand standards.
• Process telephone and walk-in reservations.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel services and local attractions to assist guests effectively.
• Audit, reconcile, and balance guest and house accounts overnight.
• Verify daily transactions and post room charges to ensure accounts balance by the next business day.
• Process credit card transactions, direct bill accounts, and no-show charges.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during overnight hours when management is unavailable.
• Inspect front desk, lobby, and public areas.
• Assist with laundry and housekeeping support.
• Set up and replenish breakfast items when required.
• Remove snow and maintain safe access around entrances and walkways.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, guest concerns, accidents, and unusual situations promptly to management.
• Background check with regular employment.

Job description

The Night Auditor is responsible for completing overnight accounting and reporting functions while delivering exceptional guest service at the Front Desk. This position ensures all guest and hotel accounts are accurate and balanced, prepares daily reports for management, and serves as the primary hotel representative during overnight hours.

Guest Service

• Answer and direct telephone calls using proper hotel and brand standards.
• Accurately process telephone and walk-in reservations.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to assist guests effectively.

Night Audit & Accounting

• Audit, reconcile, and balance all guest and house accounts during the overnight shift.
• Verify daily transactions and post room charges to ensure all accounts are accurate and balanced by the beginning of the next business day.
• Process credit card transactions, direct bill accounts, and no-show charges.

Operations

• Serve as Manager on Duty during overnight hours when management is unavailable.
• Conduct regular inspections of the front desk, lobby, and public areas.
• Assist with laundry and other housekeeping support tasks as needed.
• Set up and replenish breakfast items when required.
• Remove snow and maintain safe access around hotel entrances and walkways when necessary.
