Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling hotel cashier transactions, reviewing and compiling management reports, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. They also communicate concerns to management and perform guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities

• Understand financial data and perform basic arithmetic functions.
• Cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Perform guest services including check-in/out, reservations, and call handling.
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
• Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports.
• Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work.
• Process credit card transactions timely.
• Ensure accuracy of reported statistics and numbers.
• Update financial information in corporate systems.
• Maintain communication of operational or financial issues to management.
• Ensure guest satisfaction.
• Respond to governmental inquiries as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Guest service experience preferred.
• Flexible with long hours, including late/overnight shifts.
• Ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
