Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Downtown is seeking a Guest Services Agent to deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced hotel setting. You will assist guests, process check-ins/outs, and support daily financial reporting using the PMS and MS Office tools.

The role requires one year of guest services experience, strong communication, and basic accounting knowledge. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Equal opportunity employer and benefits for full-time staff are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1-year experience as a Guest Services Agent.
• Knowledge of accounting operations such as accounts receivable/payable.
• Basic mathematical skills for financial reporting.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver unparalleled service, courtesy, and care to guests by responding promptly to questions and requests.
• Prepare daily Food & Beverage revenue reports and balance PMS reports for revenue and settlements.
• Make corrections and adjustments via the PMS and troubleshoot computer problems during shifts.
• Enter revenue, expenses, and allowances into the system to generate daily reports (Guest Ledger, Daily Restaurant Summary).
• Efficiently conduct check-ins and check-outs and answer phone calls professionally.
• Resolve guest concerns with attentive service recovery.

This role will provide amazing guest service while maintaining the full operational functionality of the building. You and the entire engineering team are responsible for the repair, service, and preventative maintenance of all things within and outside of the hotel building. Essential Job Functions

• Deliver unparalleled service, courtesy, and care to our guests by responding promptly and effectively to guest questions and requests
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in preparing daily Food & Beverage revenue reports, and in creating and balancing PMS reports for revenue and settlement accounts
• Make corrections and adjustments via the PMS and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift
• Enter revenue, expenses, and allowances into the computer system to generate daily reports, including the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary
• Efficiently conduct check-ins, check-outs, and promptly answer phone calls with professionalism and courtesy
• Resolve guest concerns with attentive service recovery

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs
• Standing and moving about in the guest services and restaurant/bar areas throughout the shift
• Primarily standing for majority of shift

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or its equivalent

Experience

• Hotel experience preferred
• 1-year experience as a Guest Services Agent required
• Knowledge of accounting operations such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, server service fees, etc.
• Basic mathematical skills to prepare financial reporting
• Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel
• CPR/First Aid Certification
