Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling cashier transactions, reviewing and compiling management reports, and ensuring accurate guest billing and city ledger transactions. The role includes guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, reservations, and switchboard operation.

Responsibilities

• Understand and work with financial data and basic arithmetic.
• Cross-train in other hotel or accounting areas.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Perform guest services (check-in/out, reservations, calls).
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
• Prepare daily and month-end reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports).
• Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work.
• Process credit card transactions timely.
• Ensure accuracy of all reported numbers and statistics.
• Update financial information in corporate systems.
• Handle data processing functions regularly.
• Report operational or financial anomalies to management.
• Maintain guest satisfaction.
• Respond to governmental inquiries and guest requests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Guest service experience preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including late/overnight shifts.
• Physical ability to perform sedentary tasks, lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor.
