Job summary

New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Unit Clerk for the Premature Nursery (NICU) to warmly greet patients and families and help keep the unit running smoothly during night hours.

You will coordinate appointments and perform clerical tasks at the unit nursing station, answer phones, and assist with deliveries, all while maintaining a courteous, efficient environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Minimum of one year of clerical experience.
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Strong communication with staff, patients and visitors required.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Cerner and Eagle systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and direct them to appropriate areas.
• Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station.
• Answer phones and page nurses as needed; sign for important deliveries.
• Maintain courteous, organized, and efficient unit operations while multitasking.
