Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Grapevine, Texas is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the NICU with 3 NICU level exposure. This PRN role requires weekend availability and offers weekday $60/hr and weekend $66/hr, with daily collaboration in an acute care team.

Responsibilities include evaluations, treatment planning in medical-surgical, ICU, and telemetry units, and active participation in interdisciplinary discussions.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP certification or eligibility for certification pending professional experience.
• BLS certification or completion in the first 90 days of employment.
• Acute care experience, minimum one year required.
• MBSS competency preferred.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations, develop treatment plans and deliver interventions in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units.
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions; recommend NPO status, diet levels, and instrumental assessments.
• Document timely and accurate EMR entries per standards.
• Educate patients, families and staff on communication, cognition and swallowing.
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
