Job summary

Jobot is seeking a NICU RN for night shifts in Valley Cottage, NY. This on-site, permanent role features 7 PM to 7 AM schedules with 3(12) weekly shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

The NICU nurse will monitor neonates, administer care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes. Ideal candidates hold NYS RN licensure with BLS; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are strongly preferred for specialized NICU care.

Qualifications

• NYSNA union affiliation preferred.
• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred for specified areas.
• Active RN license with NYS Board of Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor neonatal vital signs, respiratory status, and overall condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, nutrition, and other prescribed treatments.
• Manage ventilators, CPAP, oxygen therapy, and other NICU equipment.
• Provide feeding, developmental, and comfort care to premature or medically fragile infants.
• Recognize changes in condition and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and other care team members.
• Educate and support parents regarding infant condition and care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital NICU safety protocols.
• Provide palliative and end-of-life care when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree Required or
• Bachelor Degree Preferred

Experience:

• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred National Certification in area of practice preferred.
• Registered Nurse New York - New York State Board of Nursing Required
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: ED, SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, and SDS within 6 months of hire/transfer; PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: ED, Nursing Radiology, and SDS (within 6 months of hire/transfer); PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: Labor - Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU withing 6 months of hire
