Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System is seeking a NICU RN for night shift to provide specialized neonatal care in a Magnet-designated hospital. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards.

The role involves direct patient care, supervising team members, and educating families about health states and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey is required.
• BSN preferred or must be obtained within three years of hire.
• BLS certification must be current per American Heart Association.
• NRP Part I required.
• NRP Part II obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assess health status of assigned NICU patients per Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized care with the Multidisciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or supervise other health team members per NJ Board of Nursing rules.
• Educate patients and families about health and plan of care.
• Ensure patients are prepared for discharge and home health maintenance.

The NICU RN Nights will:

• Assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with the requirements of the NJ Board of Nursing, current regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics and institutional policies and procedures.
• Teach patient/significant others about health/illness state and plan of care.
• Ensure that patient/significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.

Requirements:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• BSN preferred or must be obtained within three (3) years of hire date
• BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification Part I required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification Part II obtained during clinical orientation

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
