Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and to consult on therapy effectiveness. The role includes serving as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff, and performing duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program, hold an RCP license, and possess an NBRC RRT credential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Must meet state licensure requirements and hold an RCP license.
• Hold the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS is required for coworkers in the Emergency Room.
• ACLS preferred; critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on the effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education

Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program

State licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

NBRC RRT credential

ACLS (preferred)

PALS (required for ER staff)
