Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physicians' orders, determine therapy effectiveness, and provide ventilator support during CPR while maintaining life support equipment in ICUs and other areas.

Education requirements include graduating from an accredited respiratory care program and holding a current license where practicing, with RRT certification and possible onboarding of BLS/NRP/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS, NRP and PALS (may obtain upon hire).
• Preferred: Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physicians' orders or protocol.
• Determines effectiveness of therapy.
• Provides ventilator support during CPR and maintains life support equipment in ICU and other designated areas.
