Job summary

Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

As an RN, you will promote optimal patient health, safety, and well-being through the nursing process, adhering to standards and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrating accountability in relationship-based care

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma or RN endorsement.
• RN license in state of employment.
• Physical requirements: medium work, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs and intervene to optimize outcomes.
• Develop and implement patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Perform therapeutic/diagnostic interventions (IVs, wound care, meds, catheterization, specimens).
• Maintain accurate charts and use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
• Advocate for patient health, safety, and rights.
• Educate patients and families, assess learning readiness and effectiveness.
