Job summary

TalentBurst, Inc. is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III NICU at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, CA. The unit handles ~190 births monthly with patient ratios of 1:2–3.

The role requires at least 2 years RN experience, including 1 year NICU, travel nursing experience, and certifications (BLS, NRP Advanced). Night shifts (6:00 PM–6:30 AM) on a 13-week contract start 11/17/2026, with a 36-hour work

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in NICU.
• Previous travel nursing experience required; candidates with 2+ years of NICU experience may be considered for screening.
• Community hospital experience preferred and required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to premature and critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU.
• Manage neonatal respiratory support, IV therapy, central lines, medications, and feeding.
• Monitor neonatal conditions including sepsis, respiratory distress, seizures, and hyperbilirubinemia.
• Support families with education and developmental care; float to Mother-Baby when needed.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III NICU at an acute care hospital. The unit handles approximately 190 births per month, with a typical patient ratio of 1:2–3.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to premature and critically ill neonates.
• Manage neonatal respiratory support, IV therapy, central lines, medications, and feeding.
• Monitor neonatal conditions, including sepsis, respiratory distress, seizures, and hyperbilirubinemia.
• Support families through education and developmental care.
• Float to Mother-Baby as needed, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in NICU.
• Previous travel nursing experience required; candidates with 2+ years of NICU experience may be considered for screening.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Required Certifications: BLS and NRP Advanced (or willingness to obtain advanced NRP before start).
• Required Charting: Epic.
• Patient Ratio Experience: 1:2–3.

Additional Details

• Every-other-weekend scheduling; weekends may increase based on unit needs.
• No on-call requirement or block scheduling.
• First-time travelers: Facility information indicates they are not accepted.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application.
• Facility may cancel one shift every two weeks.
• Local Radius: 50 miles; contact the account manager for local rates.
• Scrubs: Navy blue for RNs.
• Parking: Free.
