Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a NICU/PICU Flex Staff Nurse to provide specialized nursing care in the NICU and PICU. The role emphasizes family-centered care, leadership, and collaboration within a team.

Requirements include a BSN or progress toward it within 5 years, Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and 1 year of RN or acute pediatric care experience. Onsite, full-time with 36 hours per week, 7am–7:30pm shifts.

Qualifications

• BSN required or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Ohio RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC within 1 year may be required.
• Experience in acute hospital pediatric settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates nursing care with a family-centered focus.
• Provides care in NICU/PICU per unit needs.
• Performs leadership and professional duties; may mentor staff.
• Participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Assists with staff education and supports team collaboration.
• Uses informatics and technology to support patient care.
