UW Medicine is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Physical Therapist II to join the Montlake NICU on a per diem day shift. The role focuses on evaluating medically complex neonates and implementing individualized care plans to promote neuromotor development and safe discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Completion of a PT program with one year relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations of premature and medically complex neonates in NICU, assessing neuromotor development, tone, movement, and reflexes.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on current evidence and developmental care principles.
  • Provide interventions to optimize motor development, stability, positioning, range of motion and functional movement.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on infant development, handling, and home programs.
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary neonatal team and ensure alignment with hospital policies.
