Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the NICU at St. Mary, PRN. You will assist licensed nurses, monitor patients, and help ensure safety and comfort for newborns and their families.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, CNA certification, BLS, CPI within 30 days of hire, and a willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Prior hospital or telemetry exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred CNA, with BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in hospital or telemetry is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
• Proficient with computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Provides care based on patient age and needs as directed.
• Communicates care needs effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapts approach to privacy and patient interaction; follows procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
