Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician (CNA) for NICU, full-time days. You will assist with activities of daily living, prepare rooms, monitor vitals, and support RN with patient care in a pediatric NICU setting.

A Florida CNA license is required, HS diploma, BLS within 30 days; one year of patient care experience preferred. Emphasis on family-centered care and teamwork in a high-acuity pediatric environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license by the State of Florida required
• Minimum of one year of patient care experience preferred
• American Heart Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bath, feed, etc.) and provide other patient care as directed
• Prepare rooms for patient admissions ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment
• Record intake and output; monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to RN
• Utilize the EMR to document patient care
• Transport patients to other unit locations and escort discharged patients to car
• Ensure adequate stock of equipment and supplies and maintain sterile technique in formula preparation
