Job summary

Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech (CNA) for NICU DAYS to join our team. This is a full-time, day-shift role focused on providing compassionate, patient-centered care to our youngest patients.

You will assist with activities of daily living, prepare rooms and equipment, monitor vital signs, document care in the electronic medical record, and support the care team under the direction of the RN. BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license by the State of Florida required
• Minimum of one year of patient care experience preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide other patient care as directed
• Prepare rooms for patient admissions ensuring the room is clean and proper equipment is set up
• Record intake and output and monitor vital signs; report abnormalities to RN
• Utilize the electronic medical record to document patient care provided
• Transport patients to other unit locations and escorts discharged patients to the car
• Deliver reports and supplies to other unit locations as needed
• Communicate patient needs with other departments as delegated by the RN
• Support unit education programs and adherence to hospital standards
