Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah is seeking a Nursing Graduate who will work under direct supervision of an RN within a clinical setting while participating in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program. The role may involve medication administration under supervision as the program progresses toward RN licensure.

The Nurse Residency can last up to 12 weeks, after which progression depends on board results and available openings.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program.
• Education will be verified.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Must have less than 1 year of Registered Nurse experience to be considered a new grad applicant.
• Licensed or Passed NCLEX awaiting licensure.
• Experience in NICU as a Tech or Capstone Student.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised to meet the needs of the patient (under direct supervision of an RN).
• Assessment: Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) under the direct supervision of the RN and reports significant changes in patient condition.
• Planning: Observes and discusses with the RN prioritization of patient needs during a shift and the plan of care development.
• Implementation: Observes implementation of the patient plan of care under RN supervision.
• Evaluation: Reports patient responses to treatments and collaborates with the RN on changes to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for patient care within the RN-supervised role.
