Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised under direct supervision of an RN.
• Assessment: Collects patient data under direct supervision and reports significant changes.
• Planning: Observes prioritization of patient needs with the RN and development of the plan of care.
• Implementation: Observes execution of the plan of care with consideration of patient needs under supervision.
• Evaluation: Reports patient responses and suggests changes to interventions with RN input.
• Participates in patient/family education under RN supervision.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to regulatory standards and nursing residency requirements.
• Aims to achieve RN licensure in a timely manner and complete orientation.
