Job summary

Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics is seeking a Clinical Nurse for its 27-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Salem, OR. The role entails caring for premature and critically ill newborns in a high-acuity setting, with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include delivering expert neonatal care, patient- and family-centered education, and managing complex equipment, documentation, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• BSN or BA in nursing, or non-nursing Bachelor's with MSN.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care to neonates with advanced respiratory, nutritional or developmental support.
• Perform ongoing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with families, providing education and emotional support as part of the care team.
• Manage advanced neonatal equipment including ventilators, bubble CPAP, high-flow therapy and oscillators.
• Initiate/maintain IV therapy, central lines (UVC, UAC, PICC) and chest tubes with precision.
• Respond to emergencies, ensuring patient safety.
• Document all aspects of care in hospital records.
• Engage in shared decision-making, ongoing professional development and quality improvement.
