Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This full-time night-shift role involves comprehensive neonatal care, medication administration, and family education, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

The NICU RN will assess patients, develop care plans, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in clinical ladder opportunities for salary advancement.

Qualifications

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures is required.
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
• Effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
• EKG knowledge (based on patient; see documentation).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental and sociocultural factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care.
