Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking an ICU Staff Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on the full-time night shift. This role provides age-appropriate, family-centered care to critically ill newborns, using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary coordination to promote safe, high-quality outcomes for patients and families.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Missouri and Kansas RN licenses, and NICU experience

Qualifications

• Two years of Level III NICU or 1 year of Level IV NICU experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Missouri RN license required upon hire; Kansas RN license required upon hire.
• RN compact license acceptable for all states besides KS and MO.
• Life Support Certifications required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high‑quality, comprehensive, and age‑appropriate plan of care for the critically ill patient and family.
• Meets the educational and informational needs of the critically ill patient and family and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family centered.
• Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge and improve nursing care quality.
