Qualifications

• Currently enrolled nursing student graduating between December 2025 and May 2027.
• BSN students who have completed their 3rd year; ASN students who have completed their 1st year.
• Students may remain employed as a Nurse Extern until graduation completion.
• Following graduation and board completion they will need to apply for open positions and continue through the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of a UVA Community Health RN in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization.
• Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
