Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and specialty nursing and medical care in collaboration with a physician. The role functions under a standard care arrangement and works within Ohio BOARD of Nursing regulations with medical staff privileges.

Responsibilities include health assessments, diagnosis development, ordering and interpreting tests, medication management, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must be Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certified or in process of obtaining Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Accepting new grads and experienced NNPs.
• Education: Master's or Doctoral Degree preferred.
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner and prescriptive authority by Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Perform health assessments and physical exams.
• Develop a diagnosis by analyzing and synthesizing data.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate tests to assess clinical problems.
• Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority.
• Develop patient education plans and collaborate with the medical team.
• Assist with discharge planning and consultations.
