Job summary

The University of Utah Health NICU Neonatal Nurse Practitioner position serves as a consultant, clinician, licensed independent practitioner, and educator within the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. This role provides expert neonatal care and educates nursing staff, NP students, and families, while guiding neonatology fellows.

May administer medications within scope and state law. The role requires clinical excellence, collaboration with pediatrics, and the ability to educate across teams in Salt

Qualifications

• Current APRN license in Utah.
• NCC Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification.
• NRP instructor or provider status.
• DEA license with Utah address.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and prioritize NICU patient care.
• Coordinate daily treatment with the attending neonatologist.
• Collaborate with consulting medical services for NICU care.
• Serve as a preceptor for NP students and residents.
• Provide antenatal consultation and education to families awaiting NICU services.
